Garrison Service Company was established in 1960 by Charlotte and J.T. Garrison. In the beginning our company represented no product line. Our product was a commitment to providing our customers an outstanding level of service.
Located on Third Ave South in downtown Nashville, Garrison Service Company focused on growing the business through customer service. In 1971, Garrison Service Company was awarded the Middle Tennessee dealership for Aliss Chalmers forklifts. Over the next nine years the company showed steady growth in the Nashville market. In 1980, two major decisions were made to insure our continued success. First, Garrison Service Company expanded into Southern Kentucky by establishing a branch office in Bowling Green. And second, with an increased presence in the market Garrison Service Company became the Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky dealership for Toyota Industrial Equipment.
By 1990 Garrison Service Company started thinking about expanding our business into other areas of material handling. Capitalizing on the needs of our customers Garrison Service Company formed Hoist and Crane Company a separate business unit to service the overhead conveyance market.
Hoist and Crane Company was an immediate success and was quickly established as a master level distributor for Columbus McKinnon. Representing the number one lift truck manufacturer and the number one hoist manufacturer, Garrison Service Company evolved into the premier material handling company for the area.
In 1996 Garrison Service Company moved into a newly built building in the Cockrill Bend area in west Nashville. Hoist and Crane Company had grown as well and moved into a larger facility. Both companies were doing well with continued sales growth year to year.
Starting as a resource for our customers, in March of 2004 Garrison Service Company opened Distribution Solutions, a company dedicated to the design and engineering of products and systems for the material handling industry. Distribution Solutions created an Evaluation Product call “Effective Product Movement” or "EPM" to analyze product flow within an organization.
In 2007, to maximize the company resources, all Tennessee offices relocated into a new 23,000 square foot building located at 100 Fernco Drive in Nashville, Tennessee. With offices in Nashville and Bowling Green, Garrison Service Company remains the number one company to service the material handling needs of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.
Throughout our history one thing always remained constant: our "quality of service."
